ANSYS LS-Dyna gives you a wide range of low- and high-order element formulations in solids, shells and beams. These can be applied on a per-part basis though the ANSYS Mechanical interface, so you can place high-fidelity elements only in the areas where they are necessary.
LS-DYNA’s extensive range of contact options enable automatic contact detection between solids, shells and beams, while taking into account beam cross sections and shell thicknesses. Contact can be detected between separate parts, within parts and within individual elements, so simple and robust contact can occur throughout the model.
