【Technical articles】Evaluation of Torricelli’s law through experiment and CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics).

This final year project is focused on experimental study of providing the equation of Torricelli law. The experiment is done to find the time taken for the water in the container to empty and the distance water travelled. The results are then compared with the time taken and distance water travel obtained by using the equation of Torricelli law. The CFD analysis is used to analyze visually the fluid flow of the model and compare the velocity obtained in CFD and experiment. This research aims to prove Torricelli’ law and to create a visual demonstration of fluid flow by using CFD. Through this research, we are to explore fluid dynamics and have a better understanding about how water obeys the law of flow rate changes through different heights. Moreover, we are also able to acquire new knowledge and skill in analyzing fluid flows in CFD.
