【Technical notes】Surge waveform countermeasures, Snubber circuit optimization
2021.03.31
In recent years, the switching frequency of power devices such as IGBTs has become faster, and EMI due to conducted noise has become a problem in many devices. Conducted noise is often caused by surge waveforms generated by the influence of parasitic parameters (RLGC components) such as board wiring and bus bars. Surge waveforms exceeding the rated voltage are directly linked to device damage. In many cases, a snubber circuit is used as a measure against this surge waveform.
