This hybrid technical seminar, presented by CYBERNET in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), brings together experts to share practical insights into engineering design, simulation, testing, and validation, connecting academic knowledge with real-world industry applications.
Designed for engineering students, researchers, academics, and industry professionals, the seminar offers an opportunity to deepen technical knowledge and gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges and practices. The program also features a panel discussion with experts from Malaysia’s space sector, exploring engineering innovation and opportunities within the evolving space economy.

Dr. Mhd Fairos bin Asillam holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of Malaya, an MBA from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and a Ph.D. in Science, Technology and Innovation Policy from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, specialising in space science policy and R&D management. He is also a registered Professional Technologist (MBOT).
He currently serves as Space Regulator at MOSTI and Executive Secretary to the Malaysian Space Board, contributing to Malaysia’s national space governance and implementation of the Malaysian Space Board Act 2022 (Act 834). He also contributes as an expert to UNCOPUOS and is affiliated with the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and Committee on Space Research (COSPAR).

Ts. Dr. Ahmad Khalid is a technology and innovation leader with extensive experience spanning semiconductors, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and space technology. He currently serves as Chief Technology & Innovation Officer at Uzma Berhad, where he leads strategic technology initiatives and explores emerging opportunities across AI, energy, and geospatial solutions. Beginning his career as an electronics engineer in Penang’s semiconductor industry, he later moved into technology commercialisation, renewable energy, and corporate innovation. He has held leadership roles at MIMOS and Uzma, bridging engineering, business strategy, and innovation.
Dr. Khalid is passionate about translating emerging technologies into practical business value, particularly in AI adoption, clean energy, and satellite-based solutions. He is also a frequent speaker on future technologies, innovation strategy, and how organisations can navigate disruption in an increasingly intelligent and connected world.

Dr. Muhammad Hanafi Azami holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace) and a B.Eng in Aerospace Engineering from IIUM, and previously conducted Ph.D. research at the Centre for Propulsion, Cranfield University, UK. His research expertise spans aerospace propulsion, aero-gas turbines, alternative fuels, hybrid rocket technology, and optimization.
He is actively involved in Malaysia’s space sector as Project Leader for the development of National Space Object Licensing under the Malaysia Space Board Act 2022 (Act 834) and serves on the technical committee for space accident investigation under the Space Regulator Division, MOSTI. His international aerospace affiliations include SAWAE, ICAS, and AIAA. He is also a Professional Engineer (BEM) and Professional Technologist (MBOT).
