CFD-Driven UAV Thermal & Propeller Design Analysis

Optimize propeller aerodynamics and thermal management using Ansys Fluent

As UAV systems continue to evolve toward longer flight endurance, higher payload capacity, and increased operational reliability, engineers face two critical design challenges: effective battery thermal management and efficient propeller aerodynamic performance.

This webinar demonstrates how Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation using Ansys Fluent can help engineers analyze and optimize these key design areas during early product development.

Webinar Schedule

1 October 2026, from 10:00 AM - 10:40 AM Malaysian time
Online event including a LIVE Q&A session

What attendees will learn

  • How to use Ansys Fluent to optimize battery thermal performance and reduce thermal risks.
  • Best practices for evaluating lift, drag, pressure distribution, and airflow in UAV propeller design.
  • How simulation-driven design can reduce prototype costs and accelerate UAV product development.

The first part of the session focuses on battery thermal management, including battery cooling performance, temperature uniformity, thermal runaway propagation assessment, and airflow optimization inside battery modules. Participants will learn how CFD can be used to predict temperature distribution and evaluate design alternatives before physical prototyping.

The second part explores propeller aerodynamic design, covering lift generation, drag prediction, pressure distribution, flow visualization, and rotor performance evaluation. Through CFD analysis, engineers can study airflow behavior around rotating blades and improve thrust efficiency while reducing aerodynamic losses.
