LucidShape Lite

LucidShape Lite is a flexible tool for the display, analysis and manipulation of light data. Simulation results or goniometer measurements of real lighting fixtures can be viewed, edited and converted. LucidShape Lite includes a subset of LucidShape's powerful optical design functionality. LucidShape Lite is for designers who frequently work with light data, but do not need all of LucidShape's broad geometric design and simulation capabilities.

Key Features
Light Data Display
Display of photometric data:
  • Light flux [lumen]
  • Luminous intensity [candela]
  • Illumination [lux]
  • Luminance [candela/m2]
  • Color
Other display of 3D and 4D photometric data:
  • Dynamic beam pattern for AFS
  • Intensities distribution over a wavelength range
  • BSDF data in 3D or 4D

Multidimensional LIDs
Besides static 2D data, LucidShape Lite can also operate on higher-dimensional data like dynamic beam patterns for adaptive front lighting (AFS) and BSDF data or luminous intensities over a wavelength range. Access to individual data layers is easy to handle, and whole data sets may be dynamically displayed as animated sequences.
Regulations Control: Test Tables
LucidShape Lite contains hundreds of test tables, enabling your light data to be checked against all sorts of international or regional regulations. You may also create individual test tables to perform qualitative light data examinations.

LID Operations
LucidShape Lite offers a broad range of functions and operations for your light data. For example, you can subtract two light distributions to examine their similarities and differences. Another application is to smooth results for better real time simulations, or to mirror the results for left-hand traffic.

Overview of Important LID Operations
  • Filter (Smooth)
  • Scale
  • Stretch
  • Add, subtract
  • Mult, divide
  • Mirror
  • Swap
  • Make symmetric
  • Shift range
  • Rotate
  • Convert angle system
  • Cross section curves
  • LID as surface
  • Bird's eye view
  • Driver view
LID Editor
The LID editor is a unique tool to build luminous intensity distributions as a combined sum of existing light data files. In the combined sum, each component my be freely shifted, rotated, scaled or mirrored. To build 3D beam patterns, you can move or blend components. Such theoretical AFS beam patterns can be loaded into LucidDrive to simulate AFS drives.

Integration with LMT SoLiT Automotive Software
A dedicated LucidShape Lite plug-in is available in photometric measurement systems from LMT Lichtmesstechnik GmbH Berlin (LMT) for automotive lighting applications.

The plug-in transfers measured data with one click into LMT SoLiT Automotive software for additional analysis in LucidShape Lite. Data can be saved into LID format, allowing lossless comparison with simulated data from LucidShape, or further evaluation using advanced software products such as LucidDrive.
